7. End-of-day collection

End-of-Day Collection Procedures

At Huntingtree Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of our children is our highest priority. To ensure a secure and consistent approach to end-of-day collection, we ask all parents and carers to follow the procedures outlined below:

  • Who Can Collect: Children will only be handed over to:

    • An adult with parental responsibility or known carer
    • A known family member (e.g. grandparent)
    • Another adult, only if the school has been informed by the parent in advance
  • Password Option: Where a parent has authorised another adult to collect their child, we offer the option to set a collection password for added security.

  • Siblings: Only siblings aged 16 or over are permitted to collect a child from school.

  • General Expectation: Children of all ages are expected to be collected from school by an authorised adult.

  • Year 6 Summer Term – Walking Home:

    • In the summer term, Year 6 children may walk home alone only if parents provide written consent.

    • The school will aways look to provide lessons to the children on road safety, before offering the optio for children to walk home alone.

    • This agreement is conditional on the child behaving responsibly on their journey home.
    • The school reserves the right to withdraw this permission if a child’s behaviour on the way home or in the local park is found to be inappropriate or likely to damage the school’s reputation in the community.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and respectful environment for all our pupils.
