Uniform

At Huntingtree, we expect children to:

  • Take pride in their appearance
  • Make sensible choices about what they wear
  • Adhere to our uniform expectations, outlined below:

 

Huntingtree uniform

Top

Required: green sweatshirt or cardigan - with school logo

Required: white polo shirt (preferably with school logo, but logo is optional) 

Bottom

Required, either:

  • grey trousers
  • grey skirt
  • grey shorts
  • grey pinafore dress

Optional: green and white check dress - you may choose to wear this in the summer months (polo shirt not required if wearing check dress).

Shoes

Required, either:

  • black shoes
  • black boots

Please note: open-toed shoes and high heels are not permitted

Additional

Headwear

  • Optional headscarves, hairbands, bows, bobbles and clips should be green or grey.
  • We will make reasonable adjustments for religious, cultural or medical reasons (including colours/styles of religious headwear).
  • Our policy does not restrict natural or protective hairstyles (e.g., locs, braids, Afros) when kept neat and safe for learning/PE. If you need an adjustment, please contact the school office or speak directly to your child's teacher.

Playground

Optional: caps and sunglasses may be worn on the playground, on sunny days

Jewellery

Optional: a watch and/or a pair of studded earrings may be worn

What should not be worn?

  • T-shirts

  • Shirts and blouses (including button‑down styles)

  • Ties

  • Jeans

  • Leggings (including 'jeggings')

  • Trainers (but are allowed when wearing PE kit)

  • Shoes that may compromise safety (such as ‘Heelys’)

  • Makeup/nail extensions

  • Visible temporary tattoos

PE kit

Required: green T-shirt (preferably with school logo)

Required, either:

  • black shorts

  • black tracksuit bottoms

  • black leggings

Required, either:

  • trainers

  • black pumps

Optional: green school sweatshirt can be worn in colder conditions

 

Safety in PE: For all PE and sport (including clubs/fixtures), all jewellery—earrings, watches and other piercings—must be removed. Pupils unable to remove earrings should remove them before arriving at school on PE days. Taping is not recommended and may not be accepted where risk remains. If earrings cannot be removed, safe alternative participation will be arranged. Teachers cannot remove earrings.

 

Hoodies should not be worn for PE

 

Please note:

  • this is not an exhaustive list and as fashions and trends dictate, we may need to send out additional guidance
  • all items of clothing should be labelled with the pupil’s name
  • We keep compulsory branded items to a minimum (currently: 1 – sweatshirt/cardigan). We will not increase compulsory branded items and will remain compliant with the DfE limit planned from September 2026.

 

Where to buy...

 

Branded uniform items can be purchased from the following suppliers:

We review uniform supply regularly to ensure best value for families and competitive access to branded items, in line with DfE guidance.

 

Non-branded items are widely available for purchase online, and high street and second hand retailers.

 

Book bags and logo badges are also available to purchase from the school office or the online School Money system

 

Second‑hand uniform
Families can:

  • Request support confidentially by contacting the school office or Mrs Wakefield using School Dojo message
  • Donate clean, wearable items at the school office.

 

Adjustments, concerns or complaints
If you need a reasonable adjustment to uniform (religion/belief, disability/medical, sensory needs) please contact the school office or speak to Mrs Wakefield (pastoral lead).


Concerns about cost, suppliers or compliance can be raised by speaking to a member of the senior leadership team or via the Stour Vale Complaints Procedure. We will handle requests promptly and sensitively.
